Forklift/Gripper Operator/Baler:

Description:

Handling and Moving Industrial and Manufacturing Dry Waste, consisting of mostly Cardboard, Paper, Plastic and Wood.

This is NOT Handling of Residential/Commercial Garbage/Waste Material!

Pay Rate:

$11.00 to $12.00 Per Hour, based on experience and Job Site Demonstration of Skill Evaluation with Shift Supervisor.

Shift and Hours: 

Normal Schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM with two paid breaks (at supervisors discretion) and a paid 1/2 hour Lunch Break.

Occasional Saturdays as required and Directed.

There is an Attendance, Production and Profitability Program in place with competitive tracking and three prize drawings.

Duties:    

  • Move Bundles/Cubes/Bails of Industrial and Manufacturing Dry Waste Material within the Sorting Area and the Warehouse/Storage Ares.
  • Paper, Cardbaord and Wood are stored inside the building, while Plastic is stored outside the building in the Yard.
  • Load Bundles/Cubes/Bails of Industrial and Manufacturing Dry Waste Material onto Trucks to be shipped off site.
  • Assist in keeping the work area free from debris, sweeping the work area as needed and at the end of the day.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
  • Previous Forklift experience is required, will train for specific job requirements.
  • A currently or previously Licensed or Certified Forklift Operator is preferred.
  • Previous experience in plant environment preferred.
  • Must be capable of learning specific material handling procedures.
  • Must be able to follow instructions and discriminate between specified items.
  • Must be able to work Saturdays, as required and Directed.

Personal Protective Safety Equipment: 

Steel Toed Safety Work Boots/Shoes are recommended. Tennis Shoes are allowed. No Open Toed Shoes, Boots, Flip Flops or Sandals allowed and No Crocks Allowed.

Protective Orange Vests, Gloves and Safety Glasses are provided.

Old, Dirty or Damaged Vests, Gloves and Safety Glasses can be turned in and will be replaced, free of charge.

Additional Vests, Gloves and Safety Glasses can be purchased by employee.

If employee forgets, misplaces or looses his Vest Gloves or Glasses the employee will be charged for a replacement(s).

Lockers are available to store your Vest, Gloves, Glasses, Personal Effects and Clothing in. Employee must provide own lock. Locks will be cut off and not replaced if left on after assignment ends or in the event of a "No Call/No Show' status for two days or more.

Dress Attire: 

Long or Short Sleeved Shirts, only; no Sleeveless Shirts allowed. No Printed Offensive or Profanity on shirts allowed.

Long Pants, only; Denim or Dickie Brand recommended. No Shorts, Skirts or Dresses allowed.

Watches, Bracelets, Necklaces or other accessories allowed that could get caught in the waste material and cause personal injury or hindrance of job performance.

Dress for the weather and in layers if necessary. The majority of the work is indoors, but there are two big bay doors that are always open.  Although you may not be exposed to Rain and/or Snow, you will be exposed to the outside temperature.  It gets Hot in the Summer and it gets Cold to Very Cold in the Winter!

Drug Screen & Background Check: 

Must be able to provide a Negative 10-Panel Drug Screen and a clean Background Check, both Criminal and Sex Offender.
