 Job Title: OR1 Service Technician

·        Level of Technical Competency Required for Territory:  Mid

  • Special Technical Skill Requirements: Equipment Configuration: adjust system configurations to major AV components such as AV Routers, Scalers, Converters, Control Processors, and Touch Panel devices.
  • Familiarity with Crestron and AMX control systems, audio consoles, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, video matrix switchers, video scalers, PC interfaces, computer controls and digital video recorders

OR1 Division is seeking a professional, customer-focused Service Technician who will use his/her expertise to provide comprehensive service and installation support for OR1 systems within a designated region.  Responsibilities include on-site evaluation and troubleshooting of OR1 integrated operating room systems and complete, timely and successful repairs, upgrades and installation of these systems in surgical environments throughout the U.S.

 

**This is a travel role that requires daily commuting within a territory inclusive of New England, Part of New York and Parts of Connecticut  Home base will be in the central to eastern New England Area.**  Overnight stays estimated at 10% per week/month.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs on-site evaluation and troubleshooting of OR1 audio-visual and IT-based systems, either repairing any problems found or, where appropriate, referring to the correct department for further action.
  • Performs  installation of operating room integration deliverables to include cable handling, cable terminations, rack and field terminations, equipment mounting, and equipment configuration.
  • Responsible for achieving customer satisfaction by meeting established deadlines as well as quality and efficiency standards per SOPs.
  • Follows hospital protocol and standards of professional conduct.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date hospital credentialing portfolio.
  • Responsible for managing travel and equipment expenses in a cost effective manner.
  • Performs other job-related duties or special projects as assigned.

 

KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Cable Terminations: ability to perform Solder, Crimp, Compression, and Punch-Down connections for audio, video, network, control, and power devices.
  • Cable Media: ability to distinguish Coax, Mini-Hi- Res, Copper, Multi-Conductor, CAT-5, and Fiber Optic Cabling.
  • Cable Handling: ability to maintain proper cable pull techniques, knowledge of American Standard Code regulations for Plenum and Non-Plenum rated cables.
  • Rack and Field Termination: ability to maintain uniform cable dressing and secure system connections.
  • Equipment Mounting: ability to physically perform the mechanical skills needed to mount AV Equipment such as PTZ Wall Cameras, LCD and Plasma Wall Displays, AV Rack Components, and Multi Purpose Monitor Display Arms.
  • Equipment Configuration: ability to program and adjust system configurations to major AV components such as AV Routers, Scalers, Converters, Control Processors, and Touch Panel devices.
  • Familiarity with Crestron and AMX control systems, audio consoles, power amplifiers, digital signal processors, video matrix switchers, video scalers, PC interfaces, computer controls and digital video recorders
  • Ability to read and understand schematics
  • Must be capable of working at heights and have good balance, may be required to lift heavy equipment up to 60 pounds
  • Able to use hand tools and test equipment
  • Must be able to work cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment
  • Strong customer service orientation and sense of urgency in solving customer requests to ensure timely resolution
  • Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Sharepoint

 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel daily to territory customers, with occasional travel to other territories for training or support as needed.

·        Must be able and willing to Travel to Canada and Mexico on occassion

  • Good driving record and valid drivers license is a must
