Position Summary:

The Building Engineer plays an integral role in the operation, maintenance, and repair operations of buildings serviced by Continuum Services.  This position will be on a team with other electrical and mechanical experts, collectively providing prompt and courteous response to building tenant requests, and assisting to ensure compliance with all City, State, and Federal safety and environmental laws, codes, standards and regulations. This position is full time, non-exempt. Working schedule: 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Operate, maintain, and repair all electrical, mechanical, HVAC, and MEP equipment
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on HVAC mechanical equipment 
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment and perform installations
  • Maintain, operate, and repair chiller systems, plumbing systems,  architectural systems and finishes
  • Properly record and maintain meter readings, service request forms, and preventative maintenance forms, and various inspection logs
  • Induce water treatment chemicals at proper amounts and times in heating and cooling systems.
  • Perform chemical analysis tests as set forth by the supervisor, reporting any abnormalities and substandard results

Required Experience/Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience, preferably in commercial HVAC
  • EPA Refrigerant Recovery Universal Certification, is a plus
  • Intermediate working knowledge of electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and mechanical control devices
  • Great verbal and written communication skills

Essential Physical Abilities:

  • Ability to climb up and down stairs and ladders
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. or more
  • Ability to work standing all day
